INDIVIDUAL THERAPY
ONE STEP AT A TIME
TRANSFORMATION
WHY WORK WITH ME?
You have tried therapy before and felt like you were talking yourself in circles and not making progress.
You have been avoiding your trauma, and are ready to go deeper.
You need accountability, structure, and feedback, and really want a therapist who will be direct and challenge you.
You often question your sense of self, relationships, and decision making, and self analysis is exhausting your mind.
You know you have more magic to share, but oppression is impacting your capacity for change.
You are reading the therapy books, talking with your besties, and listening to the popular podcasts, but you know you need more.
You want to work with a therapist who will celebrate you for being queer, neurodivergent and weird, because they are too.
Look, I am experiencing the fuckery and harm of racial capitalism and the targeting of marginalized people. I also know how trauma (past and present) can impact one's health and mental health, and how meaningful it is to be met with care and connection when seeking support. My goal is to honor the identity and life experiences of my clients, and create a space to explore these themes of harm without further stigmatization.
In my sessions with clients I can be playful, loving and relational. I also like to work hard and create structure that facilitates change. You know, to get some shit done! I believe that a strong and trusting therapeutic relationship is key for change, and can be utilized to improve client relationships and functioning. I am caring, compassionate and curious. I believe in direct and open communication and take an active role in therapy. (If you are looking for a therapist who will just listen, I am not the therapist for you)
I am known to go straight to the heart, embrace difficult emotions when they arise, and use humor in therapy. I want clients to ultimately be the source of their change and growth, and also hold people to their goals, beliefs, and behaviors. Clients tell me that they appreciate my directness and honesty, my creative approach, the structured process in our sessions, and how I lovingly challenge them.
MY APPROACH

My therapeutic work with clients is centered in Narrative Exposure Therapy. Through the narrative therapy lens I help clients gain insights related to harmful events and/or relationships. Clients can expect that we will be exploring adverse experiences in session by utilizing narrative therapy. By explicitly working with your memories you can expect some difficult work ahead. But also transformative change! I believe that is what therapy is all about.
Even if clients are not seeking support for specific traumatic events, I utilize narrative therapy to explore relational patterns related to childhood. I want clients to understand how their childhood has impacted their current relationships and overall functioning. Understanding these early relationships and experiences is necessary for self reflection, growth, and improving one's relationship with themself.
To further explore these patterns, I also incorportate Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness, and somatic approaches to support mind and body integration, with the goal of promoting greater overall healing and insight to the self.
THERAPEUTIC MODALITIES
HOLISTIC MODEL OF CARE

Therapy isn't the only framework for change, and I regularly encourage clients to seek support from other mental health providers, alternative wellness providers (massage, naturopathic, acupuncture, etc), and psychiatric professionals. I believe this integration of care is essential for change. This may also include recommendations for support groups, social activities, or couples/relationship therapy.
As a neurodivergent therapist I want to honor the amazing and challenging complexities of neurodivergent clients, and create a space that is free of bias and judgement. I will not pretend to be an expert in your neurodivergent experience, make assumptions, or engage in toxic positivity. I strive to create an environment that supports accommodations, embraces people's needs in and out of therapy sessions, fosters curiosity, and allows folks to explore their identity at their comfort level.
If you are neurodivergent (or suspect you are) my goal is that you will feel safe and validated in being yourself in session, and that we find approaches to therapy that feel supportive and affirming.
